Natalie Harp has become a prominent and consistently present aide to former President Donald Trump, known for her intense loyalty and for acting as a direct channel of information to him. Her close relationship with Trump and her constant flow of printed articles and materials have earned her the nickname “human printer” among some allies.
A notable example of that dedication came in October 2023, when sources and a photograph obtained by CNN show Harp squeezing into the trunk of an SUV to accompany Trump to a New York courthouse after she was told there was no seat for her in the motorcade. The episode illustrated how determined she has been to remain near him.
Harp, a former right-leaning television host, began working for Trump in 2022 after publicly saying he had helped save her life. She travelled widely with him during the 2024 campaign—despite not holding a formal campaign title—regularly supplying stories, social posts and other material. That steady stream of printouts and information contributed to her “human printer” label.
After Trump returned to the White House in January 2025, Harp joined as a presidential appointee. Reports from CBS News and The New York Times say she holds the titles of special assistant and executive assistant to the president and earns an annual taxpayer-funded salary of about $150,000.
In her White House role Harp functions as a conduit between Trump and people outside his immediate circle: relaying messages from allies, arranging or facilitating meetings, forwarding articles and information to lawmakers, and helping manage material for his social media accounts. One White House adviser told CNN that Trump appreciates her complete commitment and speed, reportedly saying, “Natalie is so fast.”
Harp is frequently visible at Oval Office events and signings and often travels with the smaller group of aides who accompany Trump to rallies and other appearances. Some staffers have complained that she sometimes sits in on meetings they expected to be private; one source said Harp has at times asserted that she reports only to Trump, which has unsettled others operating within the White House chain of command. White House officials have defended her, saying she works well with colleagues and helps coordinate statements and information. White House spokesman Davis Ingle described her as among Trump’s most loyal and hardworking aides.
Harp drew wider public attention when Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff invoked her name during a speech criticizing the president’s travel decisions, referencing her presence with Trump after he left Turkey on a smaller aircraft amid a reported threat from Iran. The mention provoked a strong response from the White House and renewed scrutiny of an aide who had largely stayed out of the spotlight.
Her access to Trump’s social accounts has also prompted internal speculation. After a controversial, later-deleted video targeting Barack and Michelle Obama was posted on Truth Social, some in Trump’s orbit privately suspected an aide with account access may have been involved. Because Harp is among the small number of people who have had access to Trump’s account, she was the subject of private suspicion; allies declined to publicly identify anyone, in part out of concern such disclosure might further bolster Trump’s support for that person.
Supporters describe Harp as fiercely loyal and hardworking and say her close rapport with Trump is a strength. Critics and some staffers question the level of access and influence she has acquired within his inner circle. The debate over her role highlights tensions between personal loyalty and formal White House chains of command.
