OpenAI to Unite ChatGPT's Chat and Work Features This December

OpenAI is merging ChatGPT’s chat and work tabs in December for a seamless user experience.

OpenAI has announced an exciting update for users of ChatGPT, set to take place in December. The company will combine the chat and work functionalities into one unified interface, which aims to enhance user experience by simplifying how tasks are managed.

Enhanced User Interface

The current design of ChatGPT can make it cumbersome for users to switch between various tools for different tasks. By merging the chat and work tabs, OpenAI is looking to create a more integrated platform. This change is expected to allow users to easily navigate from brainstorming ideas to executing projects without the hassle of navigating between separate sections.

As detailed in an update on OpenAI's website, users will be able to upload files, leverage plugins, and task ChatGPT with various projects like building websites or generating presentations—all within a single interface. This streamlined approach is designed to improve productivity and usability.

Usage Allowance Adjustments

A key component of this update will be the revision of the usage allowances across both ChatGPT and the Codex feature. According to the announcement, users on Plus, Pro, and Business plans will now draw from a shared pool of usage limits beginning in December. This change is intended to give users greater flexibility in managing their tasks, as they will no longer need to track separate allowances for each feature.
