Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman will visit China for three days, from May 5 to 7, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Chinese state media reported. The trip is Rahman’s first to China since taking office in February. Officials say the visit aims to deepen political trust and expand cooperation across areas including projects under the Belt and Road framework. Chinese authorities characterized Beijing and Dhaka as friends and close neighbors whose relations have seen steady, long-term progress. Beijing added it hopes the visit will broaden exchanges with Bangladesh’s new government and bolster the wider bilateral partnership.
