Singer D4vd’s former friend Neo Langston has distanced himself from the musician and is reportedly cooperating with authorities in the death investigation of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Attorney Mark Geragos warned Neo’s recent moves could spell trouble for D4vd, who has not been arrested or charged in the matter. Sources say Neo may be negotiating immunity in exchange for information relevant to the probe.
On Saturday Neo posted on Instagram: “… at the end of the day this case isn’t about me, it isn’t about you, it’s about getting justice for the victim and her family …”
TMZ sources noted the significance of Neo calling Rivas a “victim.” The L.A. County Medical Examiner struggled to determine the cause of death partly because of the condition of Rivas’s body when it was found in the trunk of a Tesla.
Neo was arrested last month for failing to appear before a grand jury in the murder investigation and had offered little information initially. On his private Instagram he later wrote: “Thankfully I’m legally fine in every way, AND BOI DO I GOT ALL MY RECEIPTS FOR THINGS HAHAHAHA.”
He also posted: “I told so many people that I trust and I thought knew me as a person my side of things, all for that to be thrown out the fkin window as soon as I get arrested and they slap that di*kheads name next to mine.”
Authorities say D4vd drove late at night from Los Angeles to a remote area of Santa Barbara in spring 2025, months before Rivas’s body was discovered, and there were rumors someone else—possibly Neo—was with him. After the body was found, Neo deleted posts featuring D4vd.
Geragos stressed the importance of Neo’s change in stance: “Neo is now focused on D4vd, and he is telling the story as he knows it, and this is D4vd’s worst nightmare.” Neo is viewed as a key witness, and his account could have major implications depending on his involvement.
Rivas’s body was recovered in two bags in the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla at a tow yard in Hollywood. Authorities have not said how long the body had been in the vehicle; some reports indicate the teen had been missing for weeks. No charges have been announced against D4vd and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
