Speculation about President Donald Trump’s health resurfaced after a photograph taken during a Wednesday Cabinet meeting showed what appeared to be a Band‑Aid on the back of his right hand. Reporters noted this was the second time such a Band‑Aid had been visible on the president’s hands.
The image captured the mark after Trump briefly touched his face during the hour‑long meeting, held to announce plans to reverse vehicle fuel‑efficiency standards from the Biden administration. Trump kept his hands under his Oval Office desk for much of the meeting, but about 30 minutes in he raised his hand, revealing what looked like two Band‑Aids on his right hand.
The White House had not issued a direct answer to the new photos but provided a prepared response to The Daily Beast. “President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said. “His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day.”
Previously, the White House attributed bruising on Trump’s palms to “minor soft tissue irritation” from frequent handshaking and his use of aspirin as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen. In October, Trump underwent what the White House described as preventive MRI imaging of his heart and abdomen; Dr. Barbabella reported the cardiovascular and abdominal imaging was “perfectly normal,” saying the purpose was preventive — to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure long‑term vitality and function.
