Media reports claimed Russia offered to stop sharing intelligence with Iran if the US cut off supplies to Ukraine; Moscow denied the reports as “FAKE.” Politico reported that Vladimir Putin’s associate Kirill Dmitriev made the proposal during a meeting last week in Miami with Trump administration envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The US reportedly rejected the proposal. Dmitriev responded to the report by calling it “FAKE.” Republican lawmaker Anna Paulina Luna criticized Politico as a “mouthpiece for the pro-war machine in Ukraine.”
Since the Iran–US conflict escalated, the US has accused Russia of supplying intelligence to Tehran. The Washington Post reported that Russia passed sensitive intelligence, including locations of US warships and aircraft in the Middle East; the Kremlin denied that report. Iran has been an ally of Russia during the war in Ukraine and reportedly supplied Moscow with drones used against Ukrainian cities. Former US President Donald Trump said it was inconsequential if Russia had provided Iran with information to help target US military facilities and personnel, commenting, “if you take a look at what’s happened to Iran in the last week, if they’re getting information, it’s not helping them much.”
