As Pakistan prepared for large PTI protests outside the Islamabad High Court and Adiala jail, a video circulated on social media showing Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi allegedly asking Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch “Operation Sindoor 2” to secure her brother’s release. In the clip she is heard saying that many people and some police privately support Imran Khan and that “from your channel’s platform, I also request Modi-ji that Imran Khan can only come out of jail if you do ‘Operation Sindoor 2’.” The post attracted about 78,000 views and drew sharp criticism, including from PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali and PTV anchor Najam Wali Khan, who accused her of treachery and insulting Pakistan.
Karachi-based Dawn reported the video is AI-generated. Forensic analysis using the Deepware tool flagged the clip as “suspicious.” A keyword search found no credible news reports of Noreen making such an appeal. Reverse image search traced the footage to a recent interview she gave to an Indian channel in which she voiced concern about Imran Khan’s health; at no point in that interview did she mention Operation Sindoor or ask Modi for intervention. The claim that Noreen Niazi requested Operation Sindoor 2.0 is therefore false.
