The 2022 Topps Chrome Update Hanger Box Break

Last week I shared with you some of the fun I had opening up my first ever Topps Chrome Hanger Box. It was a great experience and I was really happy with what I pulled out of the box. In fact, I was so happy that I decided to do it all over again and pick up a second box!

So, what did I find in my second box? Let’s take a look…

As with the first box, this box also came with a bonus pack of 5 cards.

In this pack, I pulled a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. rookie card, a Michael Conforto card, a Mike Trout card, a Juan Soto card, and a Ronald Acuna Jr. card.

There were also several parallels in this box, including a Fernando Tatis Jr. gold border parallel, a Juan Soto camo parallel, a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. orange refractor, a Mike Trout purple refractor, and a Wander Franco blue refractor.

I also pulled a few autographs, including a Brandon Crawford autograph, a Tony Gwynn Jr. autograph, and a Josh Donaldson autograph.

Overall, I was very pleased with this box. I was able to pull a few more cards that I needed for my collection, and I was able to add a few more autographs to my autograph binder. I would definitely recommend picking up a Topps Chrome Hanger Box if you’re looking for a fun and exciting way to break open some packs!

The pull was a little better than the first, but overall this box was still very weak. I got another Braves auto, this time of Ozzie Albies. I pulled a few more refractors, but still no parallels of note. Another box, another dissapointment. At least the Braves are still fun to watch.

I’m going to give this box a 2/5.

The next and final box of this break. Let’s see if I can end on a high note.

In the second box of this break, we got…

another refractor
another auto
and another parallel

So, let’s take a look at what came out of the box…

The second box of the Topps Chrome Update delivered another Mike Trout Superfractor, numbered to just 25. This one is a reverse negative, meaning that the photo is negative, with the background being the color.

The next card was a Luis Arraez auto, also numbered to 25. I like Arraez quite a bit, and he’s having a solid season. He’s also one of those guys who gets no ink, but could wind up with 3000 hits.

The third card was a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Superfractor, numbered to 25. Another one of these would have been nice, but we got a Guerrero Jr. Superfractor in the first box, so I really can’t complain.

The fourth and final card was a Byron Buxton gold border parallel numbered to 50. This was the first gold border parallel of the break, so I was hoping for another. Buxton is having a great season, and is one of my favorite players, so this was a nice get.

Overall, not a bad box. We got a Trout Superfractor, another Arraez auto, and a Guerrero Jr. Superfractor. We also got a gold border parallel, which was nice.

Thanks for following along with this break. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

The 2022 Topps Chrome Update Hanger Box Break (Cont’d)

After the box yielded two autographs, the third pack turned into a dud. However, the fourth pack redeemed the box with a big-time pull. Once again, I wish I had recorded the whole thing for you to enjoy, but I did capture a bit of the excitement on my Instagram page, so be sure to check that out.

As I’ve mentioned, the box yielded two autographs. The first was of Rangers’ prospect, Aramis Garcia.

This is a nice looking card with a clean design and a quality photo. The signature is on-card and looks pretty good. I really like the look of the Rangers’ uniform in this set.
